Before We Kiss
Before We Kiss - Susan Mallery
I'm going to say it again. There is a REASON Susan Mallery is one of my FAVORITE Authors!! From disastrous relationships in his past to her having raised her sisters there are obstacles in Sam and Delina's relationship. The one night stand they had months prior, when Sam awoke to a room full of wedding gowns and a "How to get him to propose." list on the wall scared him stupid and he ran away in the night. It takes a huge weekend business party to get them together again! The chemistry between these too is sweet to watch develop! Can't wait for Jack and Larissa's story next!

Barefoot in White
Barefoot in White - Roxanne St. Claire
Emotion packed!! I LOVED this book! The heroine, Willow Ambrose has cut off any reminder of the first 23 years of her life. She's lost weight, changed her name and moved on with her life, or so she thinks. She counts the last time she saw her famous parents by how many pounds ago. Enter HOTTIE Navy Seal Nick Hershey, someone who rejected her in college and sparks fly! I felt really bad about what Nick was doing FOR her because it just felt sneaky to me! But in the end I could see that Willow really needed that to happen.. sorry no spoilers from me! Roxanne St. Claire writes a wonderful, heart--wrenching novel about 2nd chances! It is a MUST READ!

On Sunset Beach: The Chesapeake Diaries
On Sunset Beach: The Chesapeake Diaries - Mariah Stewart
Another excellent entry in the Chesapeake Diaries series. I love the small town of St. Dennis and its inhabitants. Grace's son Ford comes home from Africa a haunted man. Carly Summit is building a gallery to house Ellie Ryders' great-great grandmother Carolina Ellis’ artwork. They meet at Ford's welcome home party and it's instant attraction. Ford is pulled in to create a security network for the expensive art and the budding relationship is slow to develop but very satisfying. This a very comfortable read. Ms Stewart leaves us anticipating the next chapter of St. Dennis, hopefully Dan's story.

When We Met
When We Met - Susan Mallery
Reading a Fool's Gold novel is like coming home! In the 13th installment of Susan Mallery's Fool's Gold series, sparks fly when Angel Whittaker and Taryn Crawford meet. I love Taryn's sense of style, her outspoken attitude, and her take charge personality. Angel is the wounded hero, that is tricked into becoming a Grove Keeper of the Future Warriors of the Maa-zib, which if you've read some of the series' you'll know, the Maa-zib was a matriarchal tribe. One tough war-scarred man and 12 cute little girls and hair-braiding, sigh. So sweet!! I can't wait to read the next one!

Evening Stars - Susan Mallery
Review on featured on Nelle's Nightstand

In Evening Stars, Susan Mallery’s third installment of her Blackberry Island series, we find a dysfunctional set of family dynamics. Nina Wentworth is a pediatric nurse, seemingly content with her life. With the arrival of her high school sweetheart Dylan, the boy who got away, she is forced to take a second look at her life. Her sister, Averil is happily married but can’t seem to commit to having a family of her own and leaves her husband to come back to the island to “find herself” and complete her novel. Her mother owns an antique shop but can’t seem to hire trustworthy store workers.

Nina was pushed into being Averil’s mother instead of sister at at young age, because their mother Bonnie would not grow up and left them to go on antique hunts for days at a time. She let go of her dream of becoming a doctor and moving away from the island with Dylan. Now she is losing her control of everything it seems.

Kyle Eastland, a former islander turned Navy pilot, returns to woo Nina at the same time Nina is rekindling her friendship with Dylan. I found it really neat how different the relationships she had with both men were. She could let go with Kyle, but Dylan was a more serious relationship. The moment Dylan found out she was with Kyle was a shock. I could feel his pain.

An unexpected find in the antique shop allows Nina’s dreams to come into reach. If only she’d release the fear she holds and takes a leap of faith. Averi’s journey to finding herself and Bonnie’s attempt to be an adult, is just as enjoyable to read. I really enjoyed this emotional story. If you haven’t read the other two books in the Blackberry Island series, don’t worry, they are stand alone books and can be read in any order.

Scandal on the Sand: Barefoot Bay Billionaires #3
Scandal on the Sand: Barefoot Bay Billionaires #3 - Roxanne St. Claire
Amazing!! "Naughty Nate", a billionaire trust fund playboy was so endearing and sweet as he as he tried to reform. Liza is a straightforward kind of woman. She cuts through the crap and that is the PERFECT woman for Nate! Throw in the little boy that looks just like Nate and who Liza is fighting for and it brings the story to great heights! There is a little mystery in there concerning how Nate fathered a son with Liza's roommate, whom he does not remember. I especially loved "The General" Nate's crusty former marine grandfather who made his billions in glass. I feel this was the best of the Billionaire of Barefoot Bay Novella Trilogy, but you really need to try them all, so you can decide for yourself.

The Trouble With Honor
The Trouble With Honor - Julia London
Featured Review on Nelle's Nightstand

The trouble began with a card game. Honor Cabot dared to beat George Easton at a game in which he excelled.
It’s fascinating to see the tables turned in this Regency era novel. Julia London has outdone herself yet again!
I first thought I wasn’t going to like either the Heroine or the Hero of this tale. They developed over time into people in which I was emotionally invested. Honor is stubborn, feisty and fiercely loyal to her family. She’s not afraid to fight for what she wants.
George, how to describe George! I fell in love with him! He starts of very much a rake but once he falls, he will do anything to protect and prevent Honor from making what he feels is a mistake. He’s very insecure at points in the story, very lonely, which makes him all the more appealing but he’s still a strong male character.
The chemistry between them jumps right of the page and leads to several steamy encounters. There is also such heartbreak, but to see the perseverance in Honor is so admirable. I love a Heroine with a spine of steel and she definitely needs it to fight for her stubborn male!

Scandalously Yours
Scandalously Yours - Cara Elliott
Origanlly published Here

I loved this book! I Loved the "Sleepless in Seattle" or even "Mary Poppins" type plot, where the son Scottie writes letter for advertisement to try to find him a mother that is not the "Steel Corset" that his father is courting. Olivia fits nicely into the picture. They have matching interests and I love how she tries to be a "different lady" of the times. I don't think it ever states the time period of the book but it does have several very notable events.Olivia and John's romance was so sweet! I'll end up reading this one again!

Deadline
Deadline - Sandra Brown
Suspense at its finest! Sandra is skilled at creating a plot! Twists and Turns abound in this book about Dawson Scott, a magazine journalist, just back from covering the war in Afghanistan and Amelia Nolan, ex-wife of Jeremy Wesson, a former Marine presumed dead. Sandra takes us from a 1976 shoot out to a 2013 murder trial. What's the link between the two? The interest of FBI Agent Gary Headly.

Amelia, along with her two cute little boys, help Dawson to heal from PTSD, although it takes a long time and with a stubborn Amelia to keep Dawson from pushing her away.

There is just enough romance to make me happy but the thrills, OH MY, kept me hanging in there! Shocking plot twist at the end that will leave you stunned! I wasn't expecting it!

Yummy romance, murder, sociopaths, and drama combined to make a fantastic read!

I recomemend any thriller buff to give Sandra a chance! She's one of the leaders of writing romantic suspense, although this one was more of a thriller!

The Temptation of Lady Serena
The Temptation of Lady Serena - Ella Quinn
I stumbled upon this Ella Quinn novel in Netgalley. It is book 3 of her Marriage Game series. I don't like to read books out of sequence but this story intrigued me. Ella Quinn is a "new to me" author and I'm so glad I read this!

Lady Serena Wier has been living in the wilds of Scotland at her family estate, Castle Vere. Since the age of 14, when her mother passed, she has taken the reigns of her ailing fathers estate. Left to her own devices until the age of 26, when her selfish brother finally comes home with a new wife, Serena has made caring for the estate her life. Sent to London for her first Season, Serena is nervous and expecting failure because of her "old" age. She thrives! Because she has a pretty substantial dowry and is over her majority, she can decide to marry for love.

Robert, Viscount Beaumont, plans to marry for convenience and not for love. Anything but love, due to a disastrous first love years ago. He is, nevertheless, fascinated by Serena's charming personality. Desperate to have her as a wife, knowing she'll only marry for love, he foolishly traps her into marriage. Or so he thinks.

After the engagement is where the drama persists and the story really comes to life. Willing to risk scandal and, with the protection and help of their mutual friends and family, Serena teaches Robert that to love is a risk that has monumental results. The stubborn man takes a long time to open his heart and realize that he's already in love with Serena.

Ms. Quinn does a delightful job of providing humor, passion and intrigue. The secondary characters, Roberts' Aunt Freddy and grandmother are a hoot! There is a secondary love story in here as well that turns out well. I am now on a mission to read the first two books in this series, The Seduction of Lady Phoebe and The Secret Life of Miss Anna Marsh.

I was provided an ARC by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

A Wicked Pursuit
A Wicked Pursuit - Isabella Bradford
Looks to be a great start to the Breconridge Brother's novels! A near fatal accident, long recovery, realizing he almost married the wrong sister is what is in store for Harry Fitzroy, heir to a dukedom. His flighty, foolish, almost fiancee, Julia scares his horse and causes him to be thrown, knocked unconscious, to break a leg and then she flees to London to "party it up" and leave the responsibility of caring for him to her younger sister, Lady Augsuta or "Gus". I loved Gus!! She wasn't a pushy heroine but a strong silent dependable, trustworthy lady. She's the wallflower to Julia's "Diamond" and Harry falls for her hard! Harry is annoying, but during his long recovery he turns endearing. How Ms. Bradford makes that work is magical! I'd recommend this story to someone who loves unusual historicals!

It was a great book! Loved the characters! It did resemble another book of hers but it was still and interesting read. I listened to the audiobook and that perfected it for me! The narrator was fantastic. She sounded like the narrator for Anja Creed in the Alex Archer books, The Rogue Angel.

All's Fair in Love and Seduction (The Elusive Lords, #2.5) - Beverley Kendall
First I've read of Ms. Kendall. She knocked this little short story out of the park! Hot and steamy, well developed characters, it was quite good! I'll have to read more in the series.
